September Wrap Up

It has been a few weeks since I posted, so first and foremost I would like to apologise to you my loyal readers for that.  at the end of September myself and my fiance bought a corgi puppy, who while being  adorable has taken more of my time than I initially expected and as such i thought it was best to take a short break rather than burn myself out.

So October is here, and this year seems to have passed so quickly I can’t believe I am already planning my Christmas gifts!  Is anyone else looking at there potential Christmas shopping yet?

In September I finished reading four books and read 1516 pages.  Which certainly shocked me as I hadn’t realised how many books I had read.  On the plus side in my August Wrap Up i said that I wanted to double the books I read that month which I certainly managed.

My favourite book of the month was   Skulduggery Pleasant The Faceless Ones, this book was much darker than the previous two but certainly had the same amount of humour in to dispel the the tension where necessary.  I have recently been really enjoying reading the Skulduggery Pleasant series, it has a good mix of tension, humour written at a medium pace, so it is just my cup of tea.

Reviews

The Son of Neptune,, by Rick Riordan, book cover Book 2 Heroes of Olympus Series

Last month my first review of the month was The Son of Neptune, by Rick Riordan.  This book is the second in the Heroes of Olympus Series.  My highlight of the book was Hazel and Frank’s relationship.

My second review of the month was Skulduggery Pleasant The Faceless Ones, by Derek Landy. This was my favourite book of the month.

I finished two other books, one which I will be publishing a review on soon, and another non-fiction book which I am planning on writing a post on in the future.

Non-Review Posts

I also wrote a post on how the Classics influence my reading, giving some suggestions of books you may like to try if you enjoy a particular genre.

Making Reading a Daily Habit was a post that I have recently written, and despite promising everyone that I would be tweeting about it and actually making reading a habit, this has not happened. Mostly due to the fur baby that joined our home last month.

I shared my Revel in Being a Ravenclaw post.  Keep an eye out for my Gryffindor post, the only house I am now missing!

I also shared a comparison of Goodreads versus Storygraph Beta.

In October I hope to finish a few of the books on my ever lengthening TBR list and hopefully manage to catch up with the reviews i have outstanding.
